Meet our team

                Dr. John R. Wood
Dr. John R. Wood (Sir Rolland Paterlot) is a wandering eye doctor and the author of ten books, including The 7 Deadly Dragons series and Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Mission. His books have stormed the countryside with over a quarter million copies distributed (mostly because he keeps giving them away, but rumor has it at least five brave souls have actually read them—his mother included).
Together with his noble wife, Lady Kristin (Melissa Materlot), and their five squires-in-training, he leads dozens of live Dragon Slayers events each year, helping families grow in faith and virtue. In 2021, their Dragon Slayers sacramental retreat was named a finalist in the OSV Catholic Innovation Challenge as one of the best new innovative ideas in the land (those are their words not his... he does not want to be wounded by the red dragon of pride).
John is on a quest to help ordinary people become saints—by slaying one dragon at a time. When not tending eyes or sharpening swords, he can be found with his family, defeating Topher in friendly combat (also known as sports), devouring beef jerky, and joyfully slaying dragons.

                Kristin Wood
Kristin Wood (Lady Melissa Materlot) has been married to Sir Rolland for over twenty years —a remarkable feat of endurance considering the number of puns and dad jokes she’s had to endure (and still pretends to laugh at). Together they have raised five saints in the making. Lady Melissa is the star of the epic conclusion to the 7 Deadly Dragons book series, most notably featured in the legendary “I Met The Girl” chapter.
For nearly a decade, Lady Melissa has helped lead Dragon Slayers Retreats alongside Sir Rolland, guiding families in faith and virtue. In her home parish, she trains young squires preparing for their first Reconciliation and Holy Communion, equipping them to face life’s dragons with grace and courage.

                Lumena Lucia
Lady Lumena Lucia has been learning the art of dragon slaying her entire life (all five adventurous years of it). She trains daily at the prestigious Woodshire Academy of Dragon Slaying and has been featured on DragonSlayers.TV and the Saturdays with Sir Rolland podcast for her legendary skills in the game, Name That Dragon.
She also stars in the live Dragon Slayers Retreat, battling alongside Sir Rolland, Lady Melissa, and Sir Topher, where she sings her debut hit single, “Dragon, Dragon, Go Away.”
When she’s not performing heroic deeds and sorting traitor tag balls in the office, Lady Lumena enjoys teaching her imaginary friend Hermie the finer points of dragon slaying—especially how to defeat Gula, the dragon of gluttony.

                Jessica Hohman
Hi! I'm Jessica Hohman, the Shipping Specialist at Extraordinary Mission. I take care of processing and shipping all orders that are placed in the online store, as well as helping to prepare materials for retreats and parish missions.
When I'm not at work, I can often be found spending time with my husband, Hayden, my dog, Maverick, and my cat, Hot Dog. I also often have the privilege of watching Rolland, Topher, and Hayden do what they call "playing basketball", which I would say is a very loose and generous definition of what is truly happening on the court.
