Slaying Dragons with St. Rosalia

Slaying Dragons with St. Rosalia

As the school year begins and our retreat season starts, we are beginning a new series of posts. Each week, we’ll post a family discussion starter based on a chapter in our 7 Deadly Dragons book series, and every post will also feature an all-new picture branching off the book illustrations!

We are excited to begin this family book study with you! But since book six, The indigo Dragon of Gluttony, releases today, we will begin today by asking the intercession of a saint featured in book six and whose feast day is celebrated today: St. Rosalia.

She is a little-known saint who was born to nobility in the twelfth century. However, instead of living in luxury, she chose to live as a hermitess in a cave for the sake of Jesus, where she lived the rest of her life. However, five hundred years after her death, an entire city was saved from a plague through her miraculous intercession when her relics were discovered.

Let us pray: St. Rosalia, you gave up everything in this world to put God first. Please help us put God first over everything in this world. Let our book study be fruitful, and help our families to grow in our faith. Amen.
